5 out of 5 stars Worked Great...   August 9, 2010

We bought this cover for our trip to Florida this year. All told, the trip was about 2200 miles. The cover worked great! Held a lot more than we expected and really freed up room inside our Ford Explorer.

It took a small bit of time to get the hang of adjusting the straps, but was still not difficult. Loading and unloading was very easy. It was able to survive highway speeds, rain, etc. It did get a couple small holes in it, but that was more our fault for loading the wrong type things along the outer edges (such as a tennis racket).

I'd highly recommend the cover - especially given such a great price.

5 out of 5 stars Works great and affordable   July 19, 2010

I bought this a year ago to use for family camping trips. Lots of space for the large amount of stuff needed with three kids in the family. I wanted a soft carrier instead of a hard one because you can pack this to the gills and when we set up camp I just took it off the roof and folded it up while we camped (of course, that also helps for storage back at home too). The zipper is heavy duty, so it had no problem with it being over-stuffed. The eight straps seemed more than enough because the foam padding on the bottom grips the roof. With the weight in there it didn't seem like it was going to move without any straps.

I have not used it in the rain for any of our trips, but it sure seems like it would keep everything dry. The material seems pretty heavey duty and tight.

We just took our first trip with it and it certainly holds a lot. Only complaint was that it was difficult to tie down and had to have some straps tied inside the car on the hand holders. Other than that it was a great help to us.

This cargo carrier was just what I was hoping it would be. First of all, when stored in it's box, it's small and easily stowed. When I needed to use it, I unfolded it, fit it between my roof rack rails, loaded it up, secured it, and off I went. Because it secured at 8 locations on the reack I didn't have to worry about it coming loose as I drove down the highway. Mine went for a 13 hour drive. When I was finished with it I just packed it back in it's original box & stored it in my garage for the next trip. It's like an emergency suitcase. It holds a lot of items and you can trust it to safely carry your goods. Found mine for $45.00 on Amazon - what a deal!

We have 2 kids and with kids comes stuff!! We bought this for our annual beach trip and it worked wonderfully. We didn't have anything to secure the front but it was heavy enough, we didn't have a problem. The hard shells would probably be better but for the price and how often we use it- this worked just fine. It may even be easier than the hard shells because once it's empty, it's very light and not a problem to get off the car.
